PARTICIPATION Students will be able to earn up to 5 points of participation every day by coming to class prepared and being actively engaged (paying attention, taking notes, participating in activities, answering questions, etc.). They will lose points for using cell phones, leaving class materials in their locker/at home, arriving late to class, being absent, talking out of turn, abusing the bathroom policy, breaking class rules, or being disrespectful. If a student is absent, they may make up their participation points by writing five sentences using the vocabulary from the chapter they are working on and bringing them to me at the beginning of class the day they return. If the absence is unexcused, students may not make it up. BATHROOM POLICY If a student needs to use the restroom during class, they must sign in/out and take the bathroom pass with them. Only ten people will be allowed to sign out per class each week, and each student may not sign out more than once a week. Students will have 3 minutes to use the bathroom and return to class. If a student leaves twice in a week, they will lose 50% of their participation for that week. If they leave more than twice, they will lose 100% of their participation for that week.
