Character Analysis

For our coursework piece we wanted to show a Prestige woman from the grand areas of London such as Chelsea, Kensington and Embankment, and who better to influence us than the classic Audrey Hepburn. Audrey Hepburn was a British actress highly recognised as being a major fashion icon and was very active during Hollywoods Golden Age - for example her starring role in Breakfast at Tiffanys (the film we have been inspired by). She is ranked by the American Film Institute as the third greatest female screen legend and has been put in the best dressed Hollywood Hall of Fame- so its no wonder that Audrey Hepburn fits out prestige, glamorous and wealthy main character for our opening sequence. Audreys persona in Breakfast at Tiffanys left us in awe as we watched the opening sequence and then we knew what type of film we wanted to create and the type of character we wanted to depict. To create our prestige and glamorous woman in our opening sequence we want to place her in the rich streets of London such as Bond Street and Regent Street and have her looking into grand shops, we would also like to have her dressed in very expensive seeming clothing such as heels, sun glasses (creating an enigma), a large coat with possible a piece if fur around her neck to accentuate the wealth of the character.
