WHAT ARE BARRIERS?

The word barriers means hindrances or hurdles or difficulties or problems. Barriers are hurdles or problems on the way which adversely affect the transmission of information from the sender to the receiver. These barriers tend to distort the message and create friction (roughness) among the organisational members and also affects the team work.

CULTURAL BARRIERS
Cultural barriers to communication often arises where individuals in one social group have developed different norms, values or behaviors to individuals associated with another group. The cultures provide the people with the way of seeing things, way of thinking, hearing and interpreting the world. Sometimes, the same words might have different meanings to people from different culture even when the language used is common. Difference in the language even worsens the situation because of the process of translation used
