Term 3 precept essay!

There are many inspirational leaders in our world, such as Nelson Mandela, Jesus Christ, Martin Luther King junior and my father. One thing that they all have in common is that they all want peace in our world, and they embraced the Holy Spirit. They all wanted everyone to be treated equally and fairly. As once said by A. Bofskovski If we welcome and embrace the Holy Spirit, we can be transformed into great healers, teachers, leaders and peacemakers. Throughout this essay I will be introducing a great healer, teacher, leader and peacemaker. I will also explain how I have been transformed by the Holy Spirit, and how it has made me a better leader. An amazing and possibly one of the best healers is Jesus Christ. Jesus was born as the son of God. When Jesus became a man, he began performing miracles and preaching the word of God. Jesus was called the fisher of men because he went around to fish men who would later become his disciples. Jesus was a magnificent healer because he could go to someone who was blind, and with the touch of his hand restore their sight. He was also a great leader because he loved everyone, and treated them fairly and with respect and dignity. He loved everyone, just as God loves everyone. Another reason why he was a great leader and healer is that his lover helps others to feel good about themselves because they know that someone is there for them who would forgive their sins. The virtues that Jesus showed were love, compassion, care, respectfulness and right-judgment. An extremely inspirational teacher is my father Tony Garrido. I believe this because he teaches me right from wrong, and he is always able to find a solution to any problems that face him. He teaches me and those around him that you should always look out for others, and what you put into helping others, you will receive double back. He teaches me tactics and strategies for my soccer games. If I miss a goal or lose a match, he encourages me to do better

next time. He also helps me whenever I need it with homework or schoolwork. My dad has always been there for me, and will continue to do so, as he always has cared for me and looked after me. He always says that whatever I do, I should put my heart and soul into it. The virtues that my dad shows are patience, confidence, courage, helpfulness and knowledge. My dad is a great role model and teacher because of all the wonderful things he does, and the virtues he shows. A perfect example of a leader is Martin Luther King junior. He is a great leader because he created speeches that he told to the public, about the people rights. He wanted world peace, and he refused to let people be judged by their skin colour or race. Martin wanted to make the world a better place, but he did it in a calm and peaceful manner. He was an African-American civil rights leader. Martin never gave up trying to make life fair for everyone, even after someone bombed his house. He gave several different speeches, but his most famous and touching speech was the one I have a dream speech. In this speech Martin spoke about what he wanted to be improved in our world, and what people could do to make those changes. His virtues were courage, patience, love, compassion and confidence. This is what made Martin such a great leader. An exceptional peacemaker is Nelson Mandela. He is a very admirable peacemaker because he protected and fought for his and his peoples rights in a non-violent way. He was involved in the anti-apartheid movement, and later joined the African National Congress or ANC. Nelson directed a peaceful, non-violent protest against the African governments racist policies. He never gave up, although he was imprisoned several times. Nelson was sentenced to life imprisonment, but only served 18 years because the people of Africa protested for his release. He is now a retired president of Africa. He is an inspiration to thousands of people across the world, and he has taught a lot of them how they should go about social justice. The virtues that Nelson has shown are courage, determination, peace,

willingness, love, compassion and leadership. He stood up for Africa, its people and their right. This is what makes Nelson an exceptional peacemaker! I believe that there are many great and inspirational young leaders in our world, and I consider myself one of these great leaders. The virtues that I believe I posses are kindness, trustworthiness, loyalty and patience. A time when I have used the gift of kindness is when someone was feeling unwelcome and lonely, so I went over to them and invited them to play with me. A time when I have used the gift of loyalty is when my friend needed help, but I had other things to do, but I still stayed to help them. A time when I used the gift of trustworthiness is when my brother told me a secret and told me not to tell anyone and I didnt. I believe that I and other young leaders have to welcome and embrace the Holy Spirit, and allow it into our lives so that it can guide us to becoming better teaches, healers, leader and peacemakers. To conclude, I believe that each and every one of the leaders have allowed the Holy Spirit into their lives, therefore making them into amazing healers, teaches, leaders and peacemakers. All of these leaders have inspired me to become a great leader myself, and have taught me and many others whats right from wrong. They have also taught us that we must embrace the Holy Spirit to become great leaders, healers, teaches and peacemakers!
