We reviewed the following: Results from survey to faculty re: GRCC questionnaires . We talked about each question and determined whether to keep, modify or eliminate questions. Using faculty feedback and outcomes of our discussion we decided: Questions #1,3, 5,6,11,12 were approved as originally stated. No need to add a Not Applicable choice for students. Questions 2,4,7,12,13,14 need some modification. The intent of the question is valid but the wording is poor. We will review suggestions at next meeting. Eliminate questions #8,9,10,15. Need to investigate the copyright laws for editing our existing questions.

We reviewed several samples of surveys used at other colleges, including CCCSE questions. At our next meeting, we will compare our current questions with samples to determine anything is missing. When making this decision, we should keep in mind that we address the elements of good teaching: physical space; class instruction; classroom interaction; classroom management. We are considering a proposal that would include several standard questions with opportunities for departments to include discipline specific questions, possibly in form of open ended comments / questions.
