1. Determined patients ability to clean dentures. 2. Added tepid water to emesis basin or sink lined with washcloth. 3. Applied clean gloves. 4. Removed dentures. 5. Thoroughly brushed all denture surfaces with denture or regular toothbrush and dentifrice. 6. Rinsed dentures thoroughly with tepid water. 7. Reinserted dentures according to patients preferences (moistened denture before reinsertion); checked to see if denture adhesive was needed for proper seal. 8. If not in use, stored dentures in labeled denture cup containing tepid water. 9. Disposed of gloves. Cleaned and stored supplies after procedure. Performed hand hygiene.
