17 DIRECTIONS: Think metaphorically of yourself as a house. Each room in the house represents a different voice of yours. Example: A bedroom might be a more private voice. Kitchen is more of a family voice. Assign a different one of your voices to each room in the house below. After identifying your voices in the rooms, draw a small picture that symbolizes that voice. Example: A piano for a musician, etc.

Think about the topic you want to write about. You are only choosing ONE topic for both texts you are creating. Think about these questions: What type of diction will I use? What will be the tone of each text? What images will I include? How will I describe them? How will I arrange my words (syntax)? Example: anaphora! What type of symbolism will I use (if any)?

4. Begin your draft on a separate sheet of paper. It must be approved by Ms. Sanders before you start your final copy.
