The Coffee Corner Paper

Always Positive, Informative & Fun, Since 1996 Volume 13, Issue 10
Tom, Dick and Harry went to a party. After the party they returned to the hotel. The hotel was 600 stories high. Unfortunately for them, the elevator was not working. They made a plan for the first 200 stories, Tom will crack jokes. The second 200 stories Dick will tell a happy story and lastly Harry will tell a sad story. They then started up the steps After 2 hours it was Harry's turn. He turned to the other two and said "Ok guys, here's my sad story. I forgot the keys downstairs.
A sloth calls the police to report that he was attacked and robbed by a gang of turtles. When the police ask him to describe the attack, he replies: "I.....Doooon't.....knoooow... It... all... happened..... soooooo ... fasssst....." A tiger was walking through the jungle one day and saw two men relaxing under a tree. One was reading a newspaper, and the other was working feverishly on a manual typewriter. The tiger leapt on the man with the newspaper, and ate him up. The tiger did not bother the other man at all. That's because any predator knows that readers digest but writers cramp. While reading a newspaper, Walter came across an article about a beautiful actress and model who married a boxer who was noted for his IQ. "I'll never understand," he said to his wife, "why the biggest jerks get the most attractive wives." His wife replied, "Why, thank you, dear." ~Charlie Chuckster There was a captain sailing on the sea during a battle. His servant came up to him and the captain said, "bring me my red shirt". So, the servant did as the captain said. After that the servant came up to the captain and said, Why did you say bring me my red shirt"? The captain said, "Well if i get shot they won't see the blood. The next day the servant came up to the captain and said, "There are 50 ships on the horizon." The captain said, "Bring me my brown pants." Why is a bees hair sticky? Because... he uses a honeycomb! A man goes into a bar with his dog. He goes up to the bar and asks for a drink. The bartender says "You can't bring that dog in here!" The guy, without missing a beat, says "This is my seeing-eye dog." "Oh man, the bartender says, "I'm sorry, here, the first one's on me." The man takes his drink and goes to a table near the door. Another guy walks into the bar with a Chihuahua. The first guys sees him, stops him and says "You can't bring that dog in here unless you tell him it's a seeing-eye dog." The second man graciously thanks the first man and continues to the bar. He asks for a drink. The bartender says "Hey, you can't bring that dog in here!"

Chihuahuas as seeing-eye dogs." The man pauses for a half-second and replies "What??! They gave me a Chihuahua??!" This is the true story of George Phillips of Meridian, Mississippi, who was going to bed when his wife told him that he'd left the light on in the shed. George opened the door to go turn off the light but saw there were people in the shed in the process of stealing things. He immediately phoned the police, who asked "Is someone in your house?" and George said no and explained the situation. Then they explained that all patrols were busy, and that he should simply lock his door and an officer would be there when available. George said, "Okay," hung up, counted to 30, and phoned the police again. One of the policemen said to George: "I thought you said that you'd shot them!" George said, "I thought you said there was nobody available!" A Minnesota couple decided to vacation to Florida during the winter. They planned to stay at the very same hotel where they spent their honeymoon 20 years earlier. Because of hectic schedules, it was difficult to coordinate their travel schedules. So, the husband left Minnesota and flew to Florida on Thursday. His wife would fly down the following day. The husband checked into the hotel. There was a computer in his room, so he decided to send an e-mail to his wife. However, he accidentally left out one letter in her e-mail address, and without realizing his error, he sent the e-mail.

Meanwhile.....somewhere in Houston, a widow had just returned home from her husband's funeral. He was a minister of many years who was called home to glory "Hello, I just called you a few seconds ago following a sudden heart attack. The widow decided to check her e-mail, expecting messages from because there were people in my shed. Well, you don't have to worry about them relatives and friends. After reading the first message, she fainted. now because I've just shot them all." Then he hung up. Within five minutes three squad cars, an Armed Response unit, and an ambulance showed up. The dentist decides to drop a tooth brush out of the plane. The nurse drops down a medical kit and the army general drops a bomb. They land the airplane and see what happened... First they found a guy looking for his false teeth. Next they found a guy bandaging his wounds. Lastly they found a young boy laughing his head off. They asked him what happened and he said, "My grandfather farted and blew up his house!" Your breath is so bad... when you talk your teeth duck. A couple had two little boys, ages 8 and 10, who were excessively mischievous. They were always getting into trouble and their parents knew that, if any mischief occurred in their town, their sons were probably involved. They boys' mother heard that a clergyman in town had been successful in disciplining children, so she asked if he would speak with her boys. The clergyman agreed, but asked to see them individually. So the mother sent her 8year-old first, in the morning, with the older boy to see the clergyman in the afternoon. The clergyman, a huge man with a booming voice, sat the younger boy down and asked him sternly, "Where is God? They boy's mouth dropped open, but he made no response, sitting there with his mouth hanging open, wide-eyed. So the clergyman repeated the question in an even sterner tone, "Where is God!!?" Again the boy made no attempt to answer. So the clergyman raised his voice even more and shook his finger in the boy's face and bellowed, "WHERE IS GOD!?" The boy screamed and bolted from the room, ran directly home and dove into his closet, slamming the door behind him. When his older brother found him in the closet, he asked, "What happened?" The youngest brother gasped for breath and replied, "We are in BIG trouble this time dude. God is missing and they think WE did it!" Someone saw a blonde eating a Tootsie Roll Pop and asked her, "So, how many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie Roll - Tootsie Pop?" Without a thought, the blonde replied, "Beats me, but it took almost the whole day just to lick through the wrapper." A prince had a curse put on him when he was a little boy. He could only speak two words every year. But, if he didn't speak for a whole year, he would then be able to speak 4 words the next year and so on. One day he met a princess named Josie and he wanted to say "My Princess". The next year he saw her he wanted to say "My princess, i love you". The third year he saw her he wanted to say "My princess I love you, will you marry me?" But, the young prince, now growing older knew he would have to wait a couple more years. So, on the fifth year, excited to finally present his question, he visited the princess. He approached her respectfully and asked, "JOSIE, MY PRINCESS, I LOVE YOU. WILL YOU MARRY ME?" And the princess said, "Pardon?"

10 Symptoms of Gluten Intolerance ~ Dr. Amy Myers

More than 55 diseases have been linked to gluten, the protein found in wheat, rye, and barley. Its estimated that 99% of the people who have either gluten intolerance or celiac disease are never diagnosed. It is also estimated that as much as 15% of the US population is gluten intolerant. Could you be one of them? If you have any of the following symptoms it could be a sign that you have gluten intolerance: 1. Digestive issues such as gas, bloating, diarrhea and even constipation. I see the constipation particularly in children after eating gluten. 2. Keratosis Pilaris, (also known as chicken skin on the back of your arms). This tends be as a result of a fatty acid deciency and vitamin A deciency secondary to fat-malabsorption caused by gluten damaging the gut. 3. Fatigue, brain fog or feeling tired after eating a meal that contains gluten. 4. Diagnosis of an autoimmune disease such as Hashimotos thyroiditis, Rheumatoid arthritis, Ulcerative colitis, Lupus, Psoriasis, Scleroderma or Multiple sclerosis. 5. Neurologic symptoms such as dizziness or feeling of being off balance. 6. Hormone imbalances such as PMS, PCOS or unexplained infertility. 7. Migraine headaches. 8. Diagnosis of chronic fatigue or bromyalgia. These diagnoses simply indicate your conventional doctor cannot pin point the cause of your fatigue or pain. 9. Inammation, swelling or pain in your joints such as ngers, knees or hips. 10. Mood issues such as anxiety, depression, mood swings and ADD. How to test for gluten intolerance? I have found the single best ways to determine if you have an issue with gluten is to do an elimination diet and take it out of your diet for at least 2 to 3 weeks and then reintroduce it. Please note that gluten is a very large protein and it can take months and even years to clear from your system so the longer you can eliminate it from your diet before reintroducing it, the better. The best advice that I share with my patients is that if they feel signicantly better off of gluten or feel worse when they reintroduce it, then gluten is likely a problem for them. In order to get accurate results from this testing method you must elimination 100% of the gluten from your diet. How to treat gluten intolerance? Eliminating gluten 100% from your diet means 100%. Even trace amounts of gluten from cross contamination or medications or supplements can be enough to cause an immune reaction in your body. The 80/20 rule or we dont eat it in our house, just when we eat out is a complete misconception. An article published in 2001 states that for those with celiac disease or gluten sensitivity eating gluten just once a month increased the relative risk of death by 600%. Youll be emailed 3 customized reports including your top health risks, healthy lifestyle program & top supplements recommendations that include gluten free, dairy free, soy free and fructose free options for those individuals with respective sensitivities.

Town Wide Compost Collection to wrap up Wednesday, October 30th

Since 1998, the Town of Nipawin has been collecting compost material from every household within the Town limits. It is estimated that during the summer months compost materials account for up to 50% of all residential waste collected. The objective of composting is to divert this material from the landfill, while converting it into a useful finished product for horticultural or agricultural use. From an environmental perspective, composting saves valuable landfill space while adding beneficial humus and nutrients to the soil. Compost collection period begins on the 3rd Wednesday of May and concludes on the last Wednesday of October. Acceptable compost items should be placed in garbage cans (preferred), or plastic garbage bags and placed within six feet of your front curb by 8:00 a.m. on Wednesdays. For residents that are situated on a corner lot, compost items should be placed on the curb which is opposite to your back alley. Please do not place compost in your MTN Waste Collection Cart.
