Open pgAdmin III from PostgreSQL 8.1

Click on Close

Double Click the Postgresql Database Server

Give Dspace password - dspace@123 & click ok

Select Dspace

Select Dspace and click on mouse right button & select properties

Take the all details on paper ( This details are required at data restoration)

Select Dspace click on mouse right button & select backup

Select the path to save the backup file

Select the path to save backup file

Give the name for backup file

Click ok

Click on Done

At the same time dspace folder is also very important all uploads are stored in this folder , at the time of restoration dspace folder should be in the same location as it is in C drive or D drive. If there is any main page modifications are there please store the layout folder from C:\Program fiels\Apache Software Foundation\Tomcat 5.5\webapps Replace these two DSPACE and LAYOUT folders at the time of restoration of dspace.

Close the Window

Restore the Dspace when it required in same installation or after fresh installation. For new installation, system IP should be the same as backup machine Required files & folders 1. Backup file of dspace 2. Dspace folder (backup of original data stored From C or D drive) 3. Layout folder if there is any main page modifications (C:\Program fiels\Apache Software Foundation\Tomcat 5.5\webapps)

Select Apache Tomcat & Click Mouse Right button If Apache Tomcat not appears pl follow the next slide

Select Apache Tomcat - Monitor Tomcat Its shortcut will appear at Taskbar

Select Stop Service

Wait for few Seconds

Open pgAdmin III from PostgreSQL 8.1

Click on Close

Double Click the Postgresql Database Server

Give Dspace password - dspace@123 & click ok

Select Dspace & Click Mouse right buttion

Select Delete / Drop

Select Yes to delete dspace currunt database

Select OK

Close the window

Open pgAdmin III from PostgreSQL 8.1

Click on Close

Double Click the Postgresql Database Server

Supply Password dspace@123 and select ok

Select Ok

Select Postgres & Click mouse right button select new database

Give database name & other details as your old dspace database details

Open pgAdmin III from PostgreSQL 8.1

Select Dspace & Click mouse right button Select Restore

Select backup file where you stored

Select backup file where you stored

Dont change any options just click on ok

After restoring the data click on cancel button & Close the Window Replace dspace backup folder in old location it is C or D drive. If there is no modifications in main page continue to work as it is. If there is any modifications in main page replace layout backup folder at the same location i.e. C:\Program fiels\Apache Software Foundation\Tomcat 5.5\webapps

Select Apache Tomcat & Click Mouse Right button

Select Apache Tomcat - Monitor Tomcat Its shortcut will appear at Taskbar

Select Start Service

Wait for few Seconds
