ComparedwithformerSTMmodel,thelongitudinalreinforcementisabitlarger,buttheverticalreinforcementinthismodelismuchsmall.However, therearesomeissues.Theinclinedangleisverysmallandisveryneartothelowerlimit.Consideringthedecreaseintheamountofreinforcement andthesmallerinclinedangle,maybeabettersolutionistomaketheheightofthebeamalittlehigher.Thus,theanglecouldbeabitbiggerandthe amountofreinforcementwillnotincreasesignicantly.

Therequiredamountoflongitudinalreinforcementintheleftpartislargerthantherightpart.OnlytherstSTMmodelreectsthischaracteristic. ThesecondSTMmodelandthecalculationbasedonGB500102010hasthesamerequiredamountofreinforcementinthewholespan.Thus,Prof. WightsSTMmodelismorerational.
