Students- This is a part of your Trimester DEP information that will be looked over by your parents, teachers, and administration. This is an opportunity for you to self-reflect on your academic progress and to evaluate how you are being prepared in relation to our academy pillars.

Course Expressions

Academic Reflection
In this trimester, Expression has helped create for projects including a Chuck Close portrait. A chuck close portrait is a black and white picture while using texture and shading to create the picture onto the canvas. Other projects we did were calligraphy writing, block letters, and a Grease Lightning Dance. This projects were really fun and I would love to do them again. In this trimester, Language Arts has helped me develop and expand my writing and reading skills. One of the projects that we did was the Nelson Mandela timeline. This project helped me learn and practice to research and shorten my writing to fit the prompt. In this trimester, Math has helped me expand my knowledge in mathematics. We did not do any projects in Math but we have been learning how to fin area, surface area, volume, and perimeter. I enjoy doing math and am looking forward to the new trimester. In this trimester, PE has helped me stay physically fit. PE this trimester has included bowling, track, and flag football. These has helped me understand the fundumetics of bowling, track, and flag football. These units were very fun and I hope to do this again. In this trimester, Science has helped me learn more about the past life on our planet. Some projects we have done are Face Lab, Genetics Presentation, and Mutation Lab. These projects help us learn more in different ways and they were really enjoyable to do again. In this trimester, Social Studies has helped me learn more about the past. In Social Studies we have learned about China, Africa, and Meso-America. Africa was a very interesting unit because we got to create a non-profit to

Technology

In this trimester, Technology has expanded my knowledge of technology. One of the units that we did was a game unit. THis unit was really enjoyable because we got to do quests. These quests showed us how to create games and earned us new sprites or items in the game creating process. We could also play/create games, which was also very fun. One of the projects that I did in this trimester that showed building partnerships/Shared leadership is the Genetics Project in Science. This project showed this pillar because of the group work we each did. I think we worked really well together in a group to create this. One project that I did that showed critical thinking/innovative problem solving was the African project. This project showed this pillar because we had to figure out what problem isn africa is biggest and how to help solve it. This showed critical thinking because of the way I had to think very hard about this project I think in Technology we showed technical savvy in our Gamestar Unit. This showed technical savvy because we used the internet to create amazing games and play test each others. One of the projects that I did this trimester that showed appreciate cultural diversity was the African project because it involved Africas culture.
