An (MP3) is a standard for digital audio compression that has been defined by the Moving Picture Experts Group (MPEG). An MP3 file is an audio file that has been compressed using this standard. Strictly speaking, an MP3 player is an electronic device that is made especially for playing these files. In a general sense, however, any electronic device for playing digital audio file might be referred to as an MP3 player, regardless of the actual type of digital files that it plays. WAV is an short form for wave, its audio file format that was developed by Microsoft. It is so wide spread today that it is called a standard PC audio file format. A Wave file is identified by a file name extension of WAV (.wav). Used primarily in PCs, the Wave file format has been accepted as a viable interchange medium for other computer platforms, such as Macintosh. This allows content developers to freely move audio files between platforms for processing. Wav/ WAVE, which is a popular audio format from Microsoft while a mp3 is also a famous lossy audio format. Mp3 files have small file sizes compared to wav files. However, many devices have support for wav file compared to mp3.
