In response to the allegation that the candidacy materials I submitted to be included with my disclosure statement was believed to be defamatory,

libelous or profane: I am a homeowner and sub-association Board Member who has questioned certain actions and decisions made by the Mesquite Vistas Board and the Management Company that part of my assessment pays for. I dont believe that having questions or even disagreeing with procedures makes me negative. I have posed these questions several times during meetings. I have been specific in the items I feel needed answers or clarification. In response to my specific questions I have had nothing but very broad and general were doing nothing wrong responses. I submitted a form with some of my background and some of my concerns entitled Bio Of Portia Stuckey. This Bio included Board procedures and actions that I felt I could improve upon, which is exactly what I stated. Somehow this information, which I disagree, has never been adequately addressed by the Board or Management, was labeled defamatory, libelous or profane. Somehow my questioning of board procedures and actions and my opinion that I could improve on them, was found to be more defamatory than an official HOA document drafted and mailed to all homeowners insinuating that I am attacking my fellow homeowners, being negative, unproductive, and diminishing the efforts, integrity and personal reputations of my fellow homeowners for my own self promotion. Furthermore, this official document was created and distributed based on the guise that it was in the best interests of the community. Never did I state that any Board Member had acted in malice, never did I state that they were hateful people, or that they havent accomplished much in their time on the Board. No personal remark was ever made or insinuated about any fellow homeowner in my bio. I simply questioned the procedure and stated that I felt I could improve this area. If I did not feel that I could bring any improvement to the Board then I wouldnt run, no one would. Comparison of the materials I submitted and the response released by Mesquite Vistas will show which party is truly guilty of misstatements, negativity and the harming of personal reputations.
