Fill-ins Test

Fill-ins Test
An exercise, test, or assessment consisting of a portion of text with certain words removed, where the participant is asked to replace the missing words. It involves a piece of text, from which of words have been removed. Candidates have to fill each gap by supplying the words they think has been deleted (Weir, 1990:46)

Advantages A lot of vocabulary can be assessed in a minimal time Limits guessing Disadvantages Harder to score Numerous possible answer (ambiguous) may exist. Takes more time for the candidates to complete them
