NAME________________________ PERIOD_________________ SEM/YEAR_________ Project: Soft-cut relief print.

Assignment: Students will create a relief print with a technique of block reduction, subtract from a single block. This must have at least three colors. The print will be approximately 9 x 6on white paper. The edition of fifteen, sign, number, and title of artwork. The grading will focus on technique, craftsmanship, creativity, and composition. Category Planning 4 Completed planning pages in notebook thoroughly by exploring a variety of options Cohesive and well-balanced composition. Great effort using color, and quality line. Explored several choices and came up with outstanding solutions. Exceptional effort shown, feedback given during midpoint critique was taken into account in final product. Flawless presentation superior use of color & tech. 3 Completed planning pages. Some ideas were explored further Shows awareness of elements and principles in planning composition. 2 Did not fully complete planning pages. One idea was explored and used. Adequate composition shows some understanding of elements and principles but forgot to identify some elements. Showed some problem solving. Depends on art sources for solution. Minimal effort put forth. No feedback was taken into consideration on final creation. Areas of progress are plain, average of media-skill 1 Did not complete planning pages.

Grades: points earned for class work determine Grades. Projects and participation.
The Points are divided by the total points that student earned, this create a grade percent. The grades assigned to the percentage grade are as fallows; A=90-100% B=80-89% C=70-79% D=60-69% F=59% or less.

Grading: Grades are determined also by these four criteria. Rubric chart: with description of earning points on categories of the
assignments.

Class work: Class work grades include quizzes, midterm test and final test,
notebook checks and participations in classroom activities.

Projects: That will be evaluated on completion of assignment, planning, design


considerations, creativity, effort & workmanship, and mastery of skill or technique or craftsmanship.

Participation Points: Students earns points for attending class and


participating in classroom activities. Students may lose points due to violations of expected classroom behavior. Lost points may be made up in open work labs.

Text: Students will create and maintain their own notebook. The notebook will be
utilized often and will be kept in the classroom in a neat, up to date manner and will be evaluated.

Edition: a set of identical prints numbered and signed that have been pulled by the artist or under his supervision. After the edition # is completed, the plate must be cancelled. on the left side # of the edition 1/10, 2/10 , 10/10 and etc., title center of the piece and signed only with pencil on right side (never put date on prints)
