Materials: Computers 'icroso%t O%%ice (ccess to the )nternet Projector *ith screen !tudents *ith an open mind Objective: !tudents *ill learn the di%%erence +et*een *eather and climate,speci%icall$ here in 'ichigan- .he$ *ill then ma/e dail$ o+ser0ations on current *eather to see ho* it 0aries da$1to1da$, *ee/1to1*ee/, and e0en month1to1month !tudents *ill +e a+le to see and understand *eather conditions, patterns, and inconsistences that occur in our atmosphereWarm-Up: ) *ill teach a lesson at the +eginning o% the school $ear, using the projector and screen, on *eather and climate,de%ining these terms and gi0ing real *orld examples that the$ can relate to- We *ill speci%icall$ discuss the *eather and climate in 'ichigan !tudents *ill learn the attri+utes to measure *eather& including the s/$ conditions, actual temperature 0ersus predicted high and lo* temperatures, the a0erage air pressure, time o% sunrise, and time o% sunset (ll students *ill +e placed into groups o% %our and +e assigned a speci%ic month throughout the duration o% the school $earLesson:

Each da$, at some point during the da$, students *ill go outside to o+ser0e *eather conditions, speci%icall$ the s/$ conditions on that particular da$- 2Cloud$, sunn$, raining, etc-3 )n class, 2on the da$ %ollo*ing their o+ser0ations3 an allotted time *ill +e set %or students to go onto the )nternet using classroom computes and 0isit ***-*eather-com to research the actual temperature o% that da$, predicted high and lo* temperatures, the a0erage air pressure, and the time o% sunrise and sunset .he group *ill then colla+orate their ideas and the$ *ill create a ta+le on 'icroso%t O%%ice, that the$ see as %it, to record their %indings o% *eather attri+utes .he$ *ill do this procedure throughout the entire month that the$ ha0e +een assigned (t the end o% their assigned month, the group *ill present their %indings to the class& pointing out patters and4or inconsistences-
