Sulphur Black v/s Reactive Black

Light Fastness
Sulphur black rates 5 on the grey scale after 40 hours xenon. Reactive black rates only 3.0.

Perspiration Light Fastness


Test is based on duplicating exposure to light combined ith perspiration. Sulphur black rates 5.0 after !0 hrs. Reactive black sho s break at ! hrs ith a rating of !.5 after !0 hrs.

Dyeing Cycles

Wash Fastness
Sulphur black gives practicaly no stain in the **T++ !a ash test. *s a result of this, sulphur black can be used in -color blocking. ith pastel shades. Reactive black ould re%uire a fix to obtain the best results.

Crock fastness
/et crock fastness for shades of e%ual depth is about e%ual. 0ost reactive black shades are much lighter in depth, giving slightly better crock fastness.

Reworks and overdyes


Sulphur blacks are easily re orked using the original process ithout stripping. Reactive blacks re%uire a caustic' hydro strip and full formula add. Sulphur black can be used to overdye many reactive colors ithout having to strip first.

Tendering
Tendering is minimi1ed by controlling the fabric p2. The fabric must have an alkaline p2 from the dye machine prior to finishing. *fter fi nishing the p2 must also be above 3.0.
