?our reflection about t e lesson- including evidence$s& of student learning and engagement- as well as ideas for im!rovement for ne.t time. 8%rite this a(ter teachin' the !esson, i( +ou ha# a chance to teach it* -( +ou #i# not teach this !esson, (ocus on the process o( preparin' the !esson*9 For t is lesson- t e iPad was not a good idea. Or ma(be it was a good idea- but it just didn@t wor* out t is time. I onl( ad A students $t e number of iPads t at were available at t at time& so it was a smaller grou!. 2 e students were not !a(ing attention to t e wor*s eet- and I t in* t is was because of t e website t at we were using. It was ver( flas ( and brig t colored. 2 e( *e!t wanting to Boom in and out of t e screen. I understand t at t is is natural and fun- but it was not ver( good for t e goal t at I ad set for t e da(. However- I t in* t at eventuall(- m( students were able to loo* at t e wor*s eet and around t e room and understand w at we were tal*ing about. It just too* a little w ile for t em to get over t e e.citement of aving an iPad in t eir ands. I saw evidence of t em learning w en I as*ed t em to t in* about w ere t e( see natural resources being used at ome. 2 e( were able to connect w at t e( were learning to t eir lives t at I t in* t at is !rett( im!ortant. 4e.t time- I t in* I need to em! asiBe t at w ile t e iPad is ver( fun and e.citing to use- it is a tool and we need to be res!ectful wit it. I am o!ing t at ma*ing t is distinction ever( time will el! t e students to be able to control t ose urges to swi!e t eir fingers all over t e screenC I would also tr( to e.!lain t ings a little better ne.t time because I almost confused m(self t is time- t an*full( a student el!ed me sort out w at I was sa(ing.
