I have had the pleasure of supervising Mr. Miguel A. Llovera Da Corte for the last four years at Tulsa Community College. Most recently he is employed as an instructor in the Communications division and previously I supervised Miguel as a counselor in Student Development. It is with great pride that I write this letter of recommendation for him. As an instructor, Miguel is invaluable to our division. He provides instruction within two different disciplines: Academic Strategies and Spanish. Serving as an instructor for Academic Strategies (TCC's Orientation course) is probably one of the toughest, yet rewarding positions. The main objective of this course it to provide incoming students the foundation they need to be successful in college and eventually a transfer university. Miguel takes the responsibility very serious and therefore designs his curriculum to make sure that students are actively engaged. His overall goal is to make leaming a collaborative process. The more students feel a part of this process and a part of the college environment, the more likely they are to complete the semester and finish their freshman year of college. As a Spanish instructor, Miguel brings a wealth of knowledge and experiences. His students' feel that not only is Miguel an expert in the field, but he also understands the difficulties some students face with acquiring a second language. He uses an approach to learning that not only encourages the acquisition of the needed content, but also helps boost the students' confidence which allows them to reach their academic soals in his
course.

Overall, Miguel is an extremely competent instructor at Tulsa Community College and we are extremely lucky to have him teach in our division and also serve in his role in Student Development.
