Who were the victims?

The Armenian people descend from the Indo - Europeans, who traveled to Asia Minor, which was where the Phrygians took control, changed their language and later referred to them as the Armenians. Although the Armenians remained under the rule of the Ottoman Empire for some time, the Ottomans began to decrease in number in the 1800s, thus making them inferior to the other modernized armies in Greece, Serbia and Romania. In responding to this sudden decline, the Ottoman Sultan began to persecute the Armenians.

As a result, over 1.5 million Armenians were deported and murdered.
