ABSTRACT THE INFLUENCE OF INFUSION TREATMENT AND TIME USING OF INFUSION TO PLEBHITIS INCIDENCE IN PATIENTS AT RSUD "KANJURUHAN" KEPANJEN

Background : Installation infusion is one of invasive procedure by inserting sterile needles into the body tissue to gain venous access in order to initiate and maintain intravenous fluid therapy . Plebhitis is inflammation of a vein caused by either chemical or mechanical irritation often caused by complications of intravenous therapy . Plebhitis characterized by the presence of two or more signs of pain, redness, swelling, induration and palpable venous hardened at the intravenous catheter attached . The contributing factors of the incidence of plebhitis are: material type of catheter that made from silicon and polyurethane, the duration of installation is between 48-72 hours, location of insertion vena metacarpal, vena digitalis, vena basilica or sevalica, have a transparent cover types to determine the condition of having plebitis infusion or not, intravenous fluids used must be adapted to the osmolality of fluid infusion and site infusion, the condition of patients who have less liquid electrolytes, catheter insertion techniques adjusted to the infusion site, and catheter size adjusted to the patient's condition. Methods : The design that used in this study is case dan control observation. The samples in this study were 30 patients on IrnaAirlangga , Diponegoro , and Imam Bonjol at RSUD Kanjuruhan Malang . Sampling technique in this study is using accidental sampling. The independent variables are the length of treatment and the use of intravenous infusion. The analysis method of this study is Chi Square test with error level ( ) of 0.05 . Results : From the results that obtained with Chi Square test P < 0.05 then Ho is rejected . p value < 0.05, treatment and legth of use of intravenous infusion have significant influence on the incidence of plebhitis . Conclusion : There is significant influence of treatment and lenght of intravenous infusion to plebhitis incidence at RSUD Kanjuruhan Malang.
