1100 ePortfolio assignment 11/27/13 Prompt: Describe yourself as a writer As a writer, I am one to endlessly write in order to get my point across. I do not like cutting my responses off because I always have so much to say. Even if I do not know exactly what I am writing about, I just like to keep expanding my statements in order to show I have some sort of opinion. In the past, teachers would say that my writing would be too flowery and sometimes unnecessary. They were able to understand my point, but I would start to repeat it. Also, as a writer, I am so used to organizing all my thoughts before I actually start writing. I do not necessarily write up a formal outline of each paragraph. However, I like to write out the main points that I want to make in each paragraph and clump similar thoughts together in order to not repeat. I arrange each paragraph based on my ideas and how the paper should flow. I believe that writing more detail is better than trying to get straight to the point and I have no problem writing as much as I can. Writing has always been my strong suit in life because it gave me a way to speak out and organize my thoughts the way I want it to sound. After I write my assignments in an organized manner, I am a lazy writer when it comes down to revising my own paper. I hate having to revise something that I feel is already great the way it is
