Reflection 3- Frankenchicken In the articles about the paste-like substance made up of all parts of a chicken, it seems extremely plausible

that this is a true story. The background and proof is overwhelming. However, this propaganda is merely deemed as true because people see something with so much back-up and get scared. This fear is what drives the story to become a full-blown rumor. An important reason why this became a rumor was the multiple sources and statements there were used in articles about Frankenchicken. In many instances, the article cited believable sources like the American Meat Institute, the US Department of Agriculture, and the T.V. show Jamie Olivers Food Revolution. These hard-hitting names scared people into believing that fast-food was made from the Frankenchicken. The masses did not take into consideration that these were taken out of context, over-exaggerated, or just made up! Maybe if they had not been taken seriously, the Frankenchicken fiasco would have been written off as a bad joke. People believed this story (and many others for that fact) because they are driven by fear. The articles strongly-drawn conclusions and naming specific and well-known sources and fastfood companies had people believing that they were eating the Frankenchicken.
