Global Warming is a gradual increase in the overall temperature of the earth's atmosphere generall attributed to the greenhouse effect caused b increased levels of carbon dio!ide" #$#s" and other pollutants% &he main causes of global warming are" an increase in atmospheric carbon dio!ide levels caused b fossil fuels and deforestation and the depletion of the o'one la er caused b the accumulation of chlorofluorocarbons (#$#)s*% Global warming is called the greenhouse effect because the gases that are gathering above the earth ma+e the planet similar in terms to a greenhouse% , trapping heat near the surface of the earth" the greenhouse effect is warming the planet and threatening the environment% &he three most common greenhouse gases are carbon dio!ide" methane and nitrous o!ide% -ome of the ma.or environmental problems that have occurred as a result of Global Warming are the rise in sea levels worldwide" the increase in crop failure and the widespread e!tinction of species% &he rise in sea level has increased the number of storms whether it be hurricane or thunderstorm that are seen around the world as well as the severit of the storms and the damage that is done% /lso the widespread e!tinction of species caused b deforestation and the loss of the coral reefs decrease diversit in animals which hurts the human population because of all the undiscovered cures and advantages that are being lost with the diversit %
