My Philosophy of Education I believe that education is the most important value we have in our lives.

Education and educating the youth of our society should be our number one priority. If we do not educate our youth, we have no future; without education, our society would fall apart. I believe that the purpose of education is to prepare the youth to be responsible adults and to teach them how to make their own decisions based on their values and beliefs. I will instill a desire for learning in my students. I will encourage them to search and find out who they are, know their potential and what they can become. The role of the student is to be involved in their own education. The students will be involved in the learning processes by having some control on what they learn or when they learn it. For example, give the students options to choose from or give them a choice on which tasks to do before others. This lets the students know educators care about what the students think and the students feel like they matter. Student involvement is pertinent to the education of the student. If they are not involved in learning they will learn minimal amounts of knowledge, whereas, if they are involved and engaged they will absorb more concepts and material. Students will see the application of concepts in real life. Life experiences are some of the greatest lessons. The role of the teacher is very important in education. Without teachers, who would students learn with? Teachers must realize that not all students will be the same types of learners. There are many different kinds of learners and an effective teacher must be aware of them and understand how to adapt their lessons to meet the needs of each student. Also, if the basic needs of a student are not meant, I believe that it is the teachers duty to help. If a teacher doesnt help a student when no one else is, who will?

It is the teachers job to help mold the students into responsible, independent thinking citizens in our society by teaching character and life skills as well as the subjects. My classroom will be a very friendly environment where students will feel safe to share and express feelings as well as succeed and fail at different things. I believe that failing is not a problem; a lack of effort and/or responsibility is a problem. Teachers must care for their students and for what they do because the choices they make do not only affect themselves. The choices of teachers affect the students they encounter. Students need to feel safe and secure in order for them to fully participate and be engaged in learning. If not engaged or participating, the student retains nothing. The education of our youth and our society members is the most important value regarding our future.
