unit covering the Kinetic Theory and how it is used to explain the states of matter and ideal gas laws. In this lesson, students will be using Camtasia, CamStudio, or a similar program to create a review of the Kinetic Theory of matter. Following the review, there will be a culminating assessment posted on the class website. Standards: -SPS5. Students will compare and contrast the phases of matter as they relate to atomic and molecular motion. a. Compare and contrast the atomic/molecular motion of solids, liquids, gases and plasmas. b. Relate temperature, pressure, and volume of gases to the behavior of gases. -SCSh4. Students will use tools and instruments for observing, measuring, and manipulating scientific equipment and materials. b. Use technology to produce tables and graphs. Objectives: - The student will be able to correctly compare and contrast the phases of matter with relation to atomic and molecular motion without the aid of any cues or prompts. - The student will be able to accurately explain why the various changes in pressure, temperature, and volume have the effects they do on a gas without the aid of any cues or prompts. -The student will be able to correctly create and label qualitative graphs relating the temperature and pressure of a gas, temperature and volume of a gas, and pressure and volume of a gas using a program such as excel. The Task: Camtasia and CamStudio are programs that will record your desktop as well as audio through a microphone or your computers speakers. You will use Camtasia, CamStudio, or a similar program to create a test review video for your classmates. There are a variety of options for you to incorporate into your video including: prezi, powerpoint, online simulations, etc. Whichever methods you use, be sure that your review covers all aspects of standard 5 (Dont forget that you must EXPLAIN, not just recited a list of definitions and relationships). After you have submitted your video, the Kinetic Theory assessment will be posted on the website for you to complete.
