Rhetorical Analysis on Child Marriage In southwest Asia, Yemen, the human rights minister is advocating for child marriage to come to a stop. She became upset and determined to end such legal practice when she was notified that a young girl of only eight years old died shortly after her marriage with a forty year old man. Sanaa, Yemen human rights minister writes and clearly speaks for the many children that suffer from unwanted marriage. Almasmari includes a great amount of pathos in this article as he describes how a young girl dies after marriage, a girl named Rawan from the northern Yemeni town, died a few days after married off to a 40-year-old man, Yemenis were horrified ( Almasmari 2013). He also says that no one is talking about it due embarrassment, and what poverty can provoke people to do. Sanaa the human rights minister demonstrates anger toward this issue which is the result of emotions. The article also contains ethos as there is credibility due to the fact that Sanaa is the human rights minister. She is aware of horrible matters and knows how to act upon them such as this one, Many child marriages take place every year in Yemen, and its time to end this practice (Almasmari 2013). As for logos this article contains statistical facts concurring to the issue, About 14% of girls in Yemen are married before the age 15 (Almasmari 2013). For the picture in the article, there are no logos or ethos due to the fact that it is just a woman, and it is not until you read the article you are given that knowledge. Pathos is present in a way that this woman looks sad and saying something regarding a child that is in the backdrop of her. There is also the words humanitarian response in the picture which gives us an assumption of people fighting for human rights leading to pathos.

The title of this article is Yemen minister on child marriage: Enough is enough; it contains all the rhetorical analysis such as pathos in child marriage: Enough is enough. This gets the reader to have emotions of anger and sadness due to child marriage. The title also has ethos in the credibility of it saying Yemen minister and we can be well aware of who she is. The last rhetorical analysis is logos and it is present as the title says exactly what the article is going to be about.
