Midterm reflection

The in class writing stimulates my creativity and allows the diversity of the topics, so I can write Page | 1 about many things, about myself and the culture that I came from. Also I can share my experiences with my classmates and the professor. In that kind of assignment I depend on my imagination. I have only fifteen minutes each class to do the in class writing, and after that anyone in the class can share what they wrote. When we began to do the in class writing, I did not like it, but when the professor started to give us interesting subjects I loved it. The literacy memoir assignment was a great chance to retrieve the memories of my childhood and to show how reading and writing can change my life. I was a little bit nervous because it was my first paper in the university and my American group peers would read my writing. In addition the literacy memoir should be between three to five pages and in the MLA format, double-spaced, Times font, 12 size and include page numbers. Also I sent the paper to my group peers and the professor via email. I was not concerned about the time because I had almost two weeks to do it. The peer review helped me to fix my mistakes and to improve my writing; furthermore I had the opportunity to see my peers writing and take advantage of their knowledge by learning from native speakers. I think there was not enough time to do it, but the professor gave us a second chance to do anther peer review which was helpful also. In the first peer review we had to read the papers and make notes on it and underline the mistakes and the things that we think our peers should change in it, moreover we answered few questions about our peers papers. other peer review we highlighted the revisions and the changes and we wrote 400 words about each paper.

In this course I learned how to be creative and how to use my own stories in the writing. Moreover I learned a lot from the revision because my classmates taught me how to organize my paper and how to link the paragraphs by the last sentence from each paragraph. This class made me keener about the structure of my writing and how important it is to let the reader understand my writing. Overall I think the subjects of the writing assignments were interesting and revisions were very helpful.
