Fairy Tale Writing Assignment

Step One: Research the characteristics of a fairy tale We have discussed some of them in class, but see if there are other characteristics that may be useful. Step Two: Plan a paper - You will be writing a fiveparagraph essay discussing the fairy tale characteristics you discovered, using specific examples from the Little Mermaid, or one of the fairy tales we read in class. Create an outline for a paper or use Inspiration to create a graphic Organizer. Step Three: Write the Paper Using your research and pre-writing, write a five-paragraph essay. The essay should contain an introduction with a clear thesis statement, three body Paragraphs with clear topic sentences, and a conclusion. Step Four Revision After you have finished writing the paper, show it to a least one other person and have him/her read it over and make suggestions.
