Once all of the "layers on a team ma&e it onto the bench, that team !ins the game. + Teams "lay as many games as they can !ithin the time "eriod allotted7 each game !on counts as a "oint in the match. The final score indicates ho! many games each team !on. Game&laStart + Each game starts !ith 3 dodgeballs on each side of centre. One "layer from each team starts by standing on the bench in their o""onent5s end. The remaining fi#e "layers on each team start by standing in front of the bench in their res"ecti#e ends. + 6 !histle is blo!n to start the game. The fi#e court "layers on each team can then rush out to grab the 3 balls on their side of centre and begin trying to thro! the balls to their teammate

Lesson Plan Template ED 3501 (Version C) standing on the far bench. Rules + Players may only ha#e 1 ball in their "ossession at a time. + Players may not cross the centre line unless tra#eling to the bench. + Once a "layer "ic&s u" a ball, he)she has 10 seconds to thro! the ball. 8f a "layer ta&es longer than 10 seconds, he)she must roll the ball to the o""osing team so that they ha#e a chance to thro! it. + 6 "layer on the bench may only catch 1 ball at a time. + 6 clean catch is one that is caught !ithout the ball or the "layer touching the ground. The ball may not touch the floor during a "ass attem"t, nor can a "layer touch the ground in an attem"t to catch the ball. 9ou may catch a ball from a deflection 2as long as it is not deflected off the floor3. 9ou can catch a ball if it bounces on the bench. + Once a clean catch is made, the ball may be thro!n bac& to his)her teammates and the thro!er of the clean catch may tra#el along the outside edge of the "laying area to $oin the bench "layer2s3. + 8f the ball is :OT caught cleanly, the ball must be dro""ed to the floor in front of the bench so the o""osing team can "ic& it u". + Teams cannot hoard the balls7 "layers should ma&e an effort to &ee" the balls in motion. 8f the E#ent Coordinator notices that a team is hoarding the balls, he)she has the discretion to roll some of those balls to the o""osing team 2or as& "layers to do so3. Strate$+ Players may "lay defense in attem"ts to interce"t or deflect balls from being caught7 ho!e#er, "layers may not ma&e "hysical contact at any time !ith any o""osing "layer !ho is standing on the bench. 8f this occurs, the ball must be gi#en bac& to the thro!er and the defender !ho made contact must go and stand !ithin 1 meter of the centre line until the thro!er thro!s the ball 2after the ball has been thro!n, this defender is then free to mo#e around their half of the court3. + 6 defender may :OT try to sla" the ball out of the hands of an o""osing "layer !ho is standing on the bench7 if the "erson on the bench ma&es initial contact !ith the ball, the defender may not interfere !ith that "erson5s attem"t to catch the ball. + 6 "layer on the bench may deflect the ball to another "layer on the bench and if it is caught, this is a clean catch "ro#ided both "layers !ho touch the ball remain on the bench the entire time. Finish + 8f a team has only 1 "layer left on the court 2i.e. the rest of their "layers ha#e made it onto the bench3, once that "layer thro!s a ball that is caught by one of his)her teammates, the game is !on 2the last "layer does not ha#e to actually run o#er and stand on the bench3.
