Content of an ICT influenced Wiki site. The topic I have chosen is an ICT influenced Wiki website. I choose this website because the students at the primary level at my institution as well as many others across the country, region and even the world encounter difficulties in Mathematics. As a teacher it is my duty to impart knowledge to others and such a wiki would greatly help students, parents as well as other teachers. The ICT influence would make this site even more interactive by using audio and video to educate individuals. Home Page This home page would have the options to register as well as a login option. Both options would offer individuals to register or login as student, parent, teacher and administrator. Students and parents would have access to the sites interactive options. Teachers would be able to access and download resources such as worksheets, videos, audio instructions etc. Administrators would also have access to resources and can also add to available resources. Selection Page After registration is completed visitors can login in to the selection page. This page has three simple selections: 1. Topic 2. Primary school standard 3. Revision These are the selections the individual may want to access. These three options were selected to show students, teachers and parents just how in-depth students should go and what topics should be taught at the primary level. This may be more relevant locally and maybe even regionally but may differ internationally. Topic Selection The topics option gives individuals a chance to access the drop down list of all topics available at the primary school level. Once one of the topics is selected the level option will need to be selected next. An interactive tutorial giving step by step instructions as well as examples will set students on their way to tackling questions. Questions would vary starting with easier questions then moving unto more difficult ones. When one aspect of the topic is successfully completed, students are granted access to higher stages of the topic with tutorials and questions to match. Once the topic for that standard is completed students have the option of logging out or moving on to another topic at that standard. Standard Selection At the standard selection, individuals will be able to access the ICT Wiki site according to the class level. Once selected the drop down option of topics would then be available. From there, like the topic

selection option, interactive tutorials will begin to introduce the topic followed by questions and once that stage of questioning is successfully completed then the individual will move unto the next stage until completion of the topic at that standard. If at any time the individual wishes to quit their progress will be saved.

Revision Selection In addition to the Topic and Standard selections there is an option called Revision Selection. Once revision is selected the individual will be able to select a wide range of work sheets, quizzes as well as past paper questions and answers to each of these. This choice is designed to enrich and enhance the learners knowledge by offering a great deal of practice in the various topics in Mathematics.

Questions The Mathematics questions on this site would range according to the standard the child is at in the primary school system. The data obtained from the Ministry of Education of Trinidad and Tobago primary school syllabus. These questions would be organized in sequential order from easier to more difficult which would challenge the learner to recall knowledge/steps previously learned in the tutorial. The question types would also vary from stage to stage. Some questions may be multiple choices, others may be structured and some may even be past paper type questions from the countrys National Test as well as Secondary Entrance Assessment. On completion of the various questions students will be able to see which they got right, wrong and how to work the questions that they didnt get correct.

Safeguards Safeguards are administrative actions, policies, and procedures to manage the selection, development, implementation and maintaince of security measures to protect information uploaded on electronic sites and to manage the conduct of the covered entitys workforce in relation to protecting that information. Safeguards prevent unauthorized individuals from accessing the wiki site which is one of the administrators top priorities. Persons with sinister motives can take advantage and even exploit persons if they have access to their personal information. Access to the site is granted to students and other individuals by submitting only an email address. Administrative access is granted to only a chosen few authorized individuals who strictly update, maintain and ensure the privacy of users. Screen names are also used to protect the identities of site users. Safeguards against online viruses are also necessary with persons entering and downloading the site.

Education is something that is necessary in our daily lives and a strong Mathematics foundation will help individuals in their journey to lifelong learning. Mathematics in ICT at the primary school level would be helpful to so many individuals. The Wiki sites interactive nature can be used to motivate students to like the subject area and show that with practice they can excel not only in Mathematics but also in ICT.
