English 1101, Proclamation (TIB) Reflection

Name: Gabriella Granda

Please provide a short response to each following question or statement.

1. What is your opinion of the readings used in the projects lead -up? Please offer specific feedback on readings, with specific details (TIB, Arrival, videos...). Yes, I truly want to know what you think. Scary, aint it? I really enjoyed the Arrival as a reading leading up to this paper. It helped give me a different outlook and perspectives about certain things. The video of Robin Williams video was also helpful when it came to thinking about how and why I believe in the experience. In his interview he brought up where he came from and how it affected what he believed in, how his career affects him, etc. I think that the actual project was a pretty good way to help students express what they believe in and get them to go into detail with their writings.

2. What is your opinion of the tasks used in preparing for the major project? Which was most helpful and why? Which was least and why? Again, I want honest responses, but I want actual details (and also not what you think I want to hear). As always, my favorite part was group critiquing the rough draft of the This I Believe paper. I dont usually like one on one critiquing because thats like only getting one doctors opinion on something critical. I want to know all the possibilities I have of changing my paper. I also like grouping settings, so that made me more comfortable. I dont really think I had a least favorite.

3. Influence me as to what to focus most upon during grading: what do you want weighed most in your favor as I grade your project? Why? (What should I concentrate most upon?) Use specifics for focus, and specific reasons! I think my greatest attribute in my paper is my examples and explanations (detail) of my examples. Not only do I think I made great points in my paper, but my group critiquing this writing seems to think so as well. I think that I made things pretty clear about how I felt about my belief and have great reasoning behind it. I have a saying in my paper that everyone seemed to agree with as well. Hopefully, like my other paper, itll distract you from any other possibilities that are wrong (:

4. Influence me further as to what to focus upon during grading: what do you want weighed least in your favor as I grade your project? Why? (What should I try to ignore, essentially?) Ditto! I think, like my other papers, that Im a little bad at repeating things by rephrasing them. I dont realize it, but sometimes I feel like I need to explain further, in greater detail, or just in another way the reader might understand better s o Ill rephrase what Im trying to say in a way I think works best.

5. Based upon what you have been assigned, verses what you have completed, what grade does your work justify? Why? I think this paper is a little more improved than my last paper so I think it could potentially be graded an A instead of a B or an A-. I think I enjoyed this paper more and found it easier to find what I wanted to say because it was something that I believe in and wanted to share. I spent a few hours editing my rough draft to complete a final polished paper without errors and with a better writing sense to better convey the topic. I love reading your notes on my papers afterwards so that I know what to do differently for my next paper. When writing papers, I actually go to my last paper and refer to the critiquing notes so that when I revise my draft and rough draft I know what to look out for.
