• As seen in earlier slides, the symbol represents Sriman Narayana and Sri
Mahalakshmi. It is also the symbol of Sri Vaishnavam. Hence, one expresses
that s/he is the servant of the Lord and His Consort when they wear it.
• Though the symbol represents the Lord’s divine feet and Sri Mahalakshmi, the
Lord Himself wears it because He loves whatever His Devotees love and so, He
wears it just the way His Devotees do.
• Also called Thirunaamam as the Lord’s name along with Sri Mahalakshmi’s
name has to be recited while wearing it [Thiru is suffixed as a mark of respect
while naamam means name].
• Important Message
– Please refrain from insulting the divine symbol – not even in lighter vein
– Please convey the message to anyone who insults the divine symbol
