First Speaker, (Ho Tze Hooi) Good afternoon sir, and the members of the floor. Today my team will talk about the need of opposition parties in a parliament like maintaining the balance of power in a parliament, being the representative for the people, holding the government accountable for what they have done, avoid the abuse of power and government will try to improve themselves. We strongly agree that opposition parties are very important in a government. Maintaining the balance of power in a parliament This limits the government from setting up unlawful rules that benefits the politicians and not the people in a democratic country. For example in a democratic government, the procedure of setting up a new law is very tedious because this gives a chance for the opposition state their points and opinions of the new law. Representative for the people Opposition parties also acts as a medium to convey messages of the people to the government or act as a voice for the people. With that, the people in the country will not be suppressed and have a chance to speak up. Holding the government accountable One of the most important jobs of the Opposition is to constantly question the Government. Any Government has to remain answerable to the public at all times, and a good Opposition can put the spotlight on serious issues and have them resolved quickly. Opposition is not just about opposing the Government. There are occasions when the Opposition agrees with the Government. If the solution proposed by the Government has wide support, and is soundly based, then its only natural for the Opposition to agree".

Second Speaker, Ling Siaw Zu Avoid Abuse of Power -Opposition will always get ready to counter any mistake the government does. In result, Government will be careful and less likely to abuse power -Rosmah Mansor, Malaysia Prime Ministers Wife bought 19 pieces of jewelry worth 3.9 million USD (RM 13 million). Found by opposition party, Rafizi Ramli, Pakatan Rakyat (PKR) Government Will Keep Improving - A strong opposition will keep improving themselves, this will make the government to improve themselves time by time in order to maintain their status. -Parliamentary seats at the 11th General Election (GE) won by Barisan National (BN) are 198/219 seats. 12th GE, 140/222 and 13th which is in 2013, 133/222 seats. The decreasing number of seats won by BN is due to the increasing support for the opposition party. Its most likely on the next GE, GE14 BN will won the majority seats again.

Final Word Balance consists of both Positive and Negative. A strong government will always have a strong opposition to balance out the country
