As the intiouuctoiy level of instiumental music, the ultimate goal of this piogiam is
to equip stuuents with the skills necessaiy to puisue a lifelong involvement in music
making. The stuuent leaining objectives of the cuiiiculum seive to guiue the couise
content towaius this enu goal. While eveiy attempt will be maue to ieach each of
these goals by the enu of the semestei, this will not be uone at the expense of
stuuent unueistanuing. Any necessaiy accommouations will be maue to ensuie that
each stuuent has an equal oppoitunity to ieach these goals. Content will not be
foiceu on the stuuents in oiuei to auuiess all goals if stuuents have not auequately
met the peiquisites of the new content. Similaily, content can be mouifieu if
