According to many scientists projection the population may reach 11 billion by the year 2050. 5.3 billion of the current 7.2 billion people lies within underdeveloped countries like India, Africa, and Pakistan. The United States Population alone is expected to rise 44% from 2008 to 2050. Africa is expected to rise to 1.8 Billion by the year 2050, India will soon surpass China as the highest populated Country. The major issues of Overpopulation are Resource Depletion, deforestation, air pollution, global warming, Water and food shortages, health, and environmental disruption.

In order to withstand the growth of population, the technological and social advancements need to improve dramatically. Every day, roughly 25,000 million people die of malnutrition and hunger related deaths. 18,000 of which are children under 5 years old. In many regions childhood asthma rates have risen substantially in the past 20 years. These numbers show the increase in air pollution. The ocean, the most diverse region of the earth, is showing a decrease in the breeds of fish human eat and even a lack of trash fish. Nature itself is showing an effect of the growth of population with specie loss and animal depletion. Social issues such as wars and conflicts are occurring more often due to the lack of space. Earths natural landscape is become more Urban based Creating a different dynamic in the Environmental system. Many scientists believe that the transformation of earths natural landscape is undermining the very life support system that sustains us all. Total fertility rate has a major influence on population growth. Historically people tend to conceive many children, this helped ensure that the blood line and family would continue. Rural families need larger families to help support the household and help with farming.

Improved medical care has lessened infant mortality, it has also helped the older generation live longer healthier lives. As the gap between rich and poor grows wider, the population diversifies and thus creating conflict. This is why adequate distribution of wealth is a target for most economic officials.
