Findings There are complimentary theoretical frameworks across several of the articles.

. For example, several of the articles talk about the benefits of having friendships in the workplace. This includes the articles Friends and Co-workers , Effects of workplace friendships on employee satisfaction, organizational citizenship behavior, turnover intention, absenteeism, and task performance, and Why you should care about having friends at work. The article, Friendship and work: a good or bad partnership? competes with the theoretical frameworks of the majority of our other article findings, because the article includes some negative aspects of having friends within the workplace. There are complimentary results/findings/conclusions among several of the articles. Most of the articles concluded that friendships within the workplace can produce beneficial results. For instance, trust and loyalty within the company can exist if there are friendships between employees. In addition, the co-workers who have friendships at the workplace are more likely to be productive, have a more positive attitude, be more confident, and exchange words of encouragement. The competing results/findings/conclusions include bitterness over promotions, jealousy, and competition among employees. Other competing results are that some of the articles state that office romances are risky while a few of the other articles concluded that marriages can result from office relationships. The overall concept amongst the articles focuses on relationships in the workplace. Theories include that friendships are beneficial in the workplace, one can find a romantic

relationship in the workplace, and families in the workplace can create difficulties. A majority of the articles used surveys to collect data about these relationships. The conclusions amongst the articles conclude that friendships within the workplace can be beneficial. Although dating in the workplace result s in high rates of marriage it can also lead to negativity in the workplace. The scholarly articles provided results from studies that were conducted while the nonscholarly articles have randomized surveys. A new hypothesis we formed from our articles is that friendships within the workplace are more advantageous. Our hypothesis is based off of conclusions from the majority of our articles which indicate that friendships within the workplace can increase productivity and ones overall satisfaction of their job.
