1. Explain and justify the need for a solution for a specified client/user.
Thechallengethathasbeensetistomakeanadvertisementthatinformsthecommunityabout whyacertainpersonisbeneficialtothecommunity,andIchoseVivian.Thiswillbedoneusing herinterests,personalqualities,andanythingelsethatisspecialaboutspecificallyher.The reasonwearedoingthisistoraiseawarenesstoourcommunityaboutthepeopleinitandabout theimportantroleofeachindividualinthiscommunityandhowtheyenrichit. ThemarketthatIwillbetargetingwithmyadvertisementismyclassgroup10.5.Thecreationof mysolutionwillsolvetheneedforknowingwhatkindofdiversitythereisattheschoolandthe factthatmanypeopledonotknowmuchabouttheirpeers,whichisaproblem.Iwilladvertise myfriendVivian,inordertoaddress,andattempt,tosolvetheproblemathand. Itwillmakethemappreciatethepeoplearoundthemmore,includingVivian,andwillhelpthem recognizethateverypersonisavaluablememberofthecommunityintheirownway.

WatchingObamasCampaignadforinspirationonhowtoconvincepeopleinfavorofone productoranother.Italsoshowshowwiththeuseofcountingupstepsandfactsitcanmakeit seemwellplannedoutandorganized.

Humor:PepsiColaCommercial.Thiscommercialuseshumor,andalsousesforeshadowing, whichisveryfunnyanditappealstoyoubecauseitstaysinyourheadanditissomethingthatis memorable.Thecolorsthatareusedareyellowandblue,whicharealsothecolorsonthepepsi packaging.Thishelpsyourememberwhatthecolorthatisbeingadvertisedlookslikethecolors thatareonthepackagingandmakesitmorememorableandappealingtowatch.

Thisadforcheddarcontainsmanydifferentemotionsthatyoufeelwhenyouwatchit.Itgoes fromhappiness,tosadness,andthentostrength.Ithinkthatitisveryfunnyandthatthedark colorsintheadvertisementkindofreflectthecheddarthatwillbepresentedintheend.Italso helpscreatetheatmospherefortheadvertisementasawhole.Itisgenerallydark,which symbolizedthateverythingishappeninginsecret.

Thiscommercialtalkedabouttheconceptofhowweseeourselvesincomparisontohowwe areperceptedbyotherpeople,andhowwethinkwearealotlessbeautifulthatweactuallyare. ThiswaspartofaDoveRealBeautycampaign,anditreallygetsyouthinkingandmovesyou emotionally,whichiswhyIthinkthatitisaveryeffectiveadvertismentasawhole.Adsthatstick toyoutendtobealotmoreeffectiveinsellingtheproduct.

Icreatedasurveyformytargetgroup,whichwas10.5,whichaskedpeoplewhattheythoughtof differentaspectsofadvertising(lengthofadvertisement,setting,colors...)andwhattheythought ofVivian,andwhattheywantedtoknowabouther. Thesearetheresultsthatmysurveygaveme:

Thisquestionreferredtowhatgenreofadvertisementmytargetaudiencepreferredtosee.The majorityansweredthattheypreferredasurprisingorfactualadvertisementoveranythingelse. Thesecondmostpreferredwasahappyadvertisement,andlaggingbehindwiththeleast amountofvoteswasasadorfactualadvertisement. Howlongdoyoupreferadvertisementstobe? Mostofmytargetaudiencepreferredanadvertisementthatwas12minuteslong,andIagree, becauseIthinkthatthisisthebestlengthofadvertisementsinceitstillgivemetimetoputinall thefactsthatIwanttoinmyadvertisement,butdoesntforcemetofillthetimewithasmany factsaspossible.Thesecondmostpreferredwasunder1minute,whichIthinkisagood amountoftimeforanaverageadvertisement,howeverifIwanttosuccessfullyadvertiseVivianI needtoputalittlemoreinformation.23minutesandover3minuteshadtheleastvotes. Whatcolorsdoyoulikeinadvertisements? Forthisquestion,coolcolorsandwarmcolorsweretied.IthinkthatIwillusemorecoolcolors though,becausethesettingthatIamplanningtofilminwillhavemorecoolcolors.Singlecolor themesandblackandwhitestayedbehindwiththeleastamountofvotes.

Whatsettingdoyouprefermost? MostofthepeoplethatIsentthequestionnairetoansweredthattheypreferredanoutside setting,suchasoutontheroad.Afterthat,naturehadthemostvotes,andinsidehadtheleast. Thissetsasmallchallengeforme,sincesomeofmyideasareinside,butIthinkthatIwillfinda waytoaccomodateeverything. Whatkindofmusicdoyoupreferinadvertisements? Mostpeopleansweredthattheypreferredupbeatmusic,whichIalsothinkwouldbethebest typeofmusicifImakeaninspirationaladvertisement,whichisprobablywhatIamgoingtodo judgingonmypreviousresponses.Thenextmostvotedwashiphop,andclassicalandpophad theleastamountofvotes. Whatisonethinganadvertisementshouldcontaininyouropinion? Althoughthereweresomesillyanswerstothisquestion,theanswersagoodsettingandwords onthescreendidgivemeanideaastowhichdirectionIwanttodirectmyadvertisement. WhatisitaboutVivianthatyoulikethemost? Inretrospect,IwishIwouldntveansweredthisquestion,sinceitattractsquitesomesilly answers.However,alotofanswersimpliedthatsheiskindandcaringandhelpful. WhichthingswouldyouliketolearnmoreaboutVivian? LearninghowtouseAdobePremiereCS6.ThiswillhelpmebecauserightnowIamplanningon usingthatfortheeditingofmyfinalproduct,asitwillchallengememoreandcouldmakea higherqualityoutcomeforthefinishedadvertisement.Ilearnedabouthowtocutandeditvideos, howtoaddeffectsandaddwritingontopofvideos.Ialsolearnedhowtoapplydifferentformsof filmingintomyfinalproject.

LearninghowtouseAdobeAftereffectsCS6.ThiswillhelpmeincaseIwouldliketoanimate somethingtoputintomyadvertisement.Here,Itookapictureofagoldfishandanimateditso thatitlookedlikeitwasmoving.Iusedastepbysteptutorialtohelpmemakethefishmove. First,IusedthepuppettooltoselectallofthepartsofthefishthatIwantedtoanimate,sothe edgesandtheendsoflines,andanyprominentcurves.Then,Iheldcommandandclickedand heldoneofthelittlecircles,andmoveditaroundinacircularmotiontocreatetheillusionthatit wasswimming.Finally,IdevelopeditintoamoviewhichIthenwasabletowatch.Iwas fascinatedbythewaythatdespitethemovementsthatImademygoldfishdoweresimple,it actuallylookedlikeitwasmoving.
