Crist, J.V. (2010). The Myth of Fetal Personhood: Reconciling Roe and Fetal Homicide Laws. Case Western Reserve Law Review. 60 (3). 851-887. Crist highlights the controversy roused by the case of 11-year-old Jordan Brown who was charged with the murder of Kenzie Houk and his unborn brother Christopher Houk. The article presents the paradox of laws governing fetal homicide and fetal personhood and abortion rights in the U.S. Crist believes womens rights advocates should uphold feticide laws since it protects the unlawful termination of pregnancy and the right of women to complete their maternities.

The goal of this source was to get the readers to understand the contradiction and controversy of giving fetus rights. Compared to other sources for this proposal, this source provides an educated objective response to this specific issue. This article has not changed the way I think about my topic but has showed a different perspective. Peer-reviewed: Yes

Andre, C., Velasquez, M., (1988) Forcing Pregnant Women to do as Theyre Told: Maternal vs. Fetal Rights 1 (2). Ethical briefs >( title) The authors of this article discuss the issues of forcing pregnant women to follow a Dr.s medical advice, and how it affects not only the woman herself but also the fetus. While explaining the ways a fetus can be affected, the authors also clarify that society does not have a right to control the behavior of pregnant women. Slightly biased and more less objective, the article repeats that humanity has no right to impose on their own judgments about what they think is best for her and fetus. It is depriving her of her freedom to make her own choices and to control her own life.

This source was useful; it helped me consider a perspective from the other side of the argument. Continuing to read more in the article, it becomes biased and opinionated. The goal of this source was to explain to society that they cannot force a pregnant woman to do what they think is right for the fetus, and the woman has a freedom of choice. This source did affect the way I think about my topic; the mothers do have a right to decide what they want to do with their body or not. Peer-reviewed: Yes

Anne, L. (2012, November 26). What if Abortion were Illegal? [Web log post]. Retrieved from http://www.patheos.com/blogs/lovejoyfeminism/2012/11/what-if-abortion-wereillegal.html Libby Anne writes about what the potential effects would be if abortion was illegal in the United States.

Compared to the other similar sources, this one assesses all the aspects of different possible effects of issues that can occur if abortion was illegal. The goal of this source is to get the viewers to think about what could happen in this situation. Though this source is completely biased it has given me several different perspectives I have not took into consideration. It has shifted the way I thought about my topic.

5 Reimers, A.J. (no date). Abortion: A Right But Not A Good. nd.edu. (no date). From http://www3.nd.edu/~areimers/Abortion.htm Reimers explains on this website, that abortion is not a good thing for woman. He discusses how a womans body prepares itself for motherhood, and how a mother attaches to her fetus at the first sign of movement. Reimers than begins to describe how abortion interrupts this. Because a womens body was preparing itself to conceive life, the abortion procedure can affect future pregnancies and leave the mother feeling guilty.

This source is not reliable due to the fact that it is completely biased. The goal of this source was to grab the readers attention through emotion that abortion is bad and kills human beings. I cannot use this source in my research project because I am looking for different perspectives and not just the stereotypical side. It has not changed the way I think about my topic.

6 Pittman, G. (2012, December 20). Medical abortions are safe: study. The New York Times. Retrieved from http://www.reuters.com/article/2012/12/20/us-medical-abortions-are-safe-studyidUSBRE8BJ1CW20121220 According to researchers the rate of abortion-related complications sending women to the emergency room was one in 625 during 2009 and 2010. Though a failure of an abortion can cause serious problems with next pregnanices or hospital ER visits happen, they can all be treated and survive. In other words, having an abortion is considered safe since any aftermath can be treated at the hospital.

7 The Young Turks (2013, November 25). Study: What Happens To Women Denied Abortions? [Video file] Retrieved from http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dWBjQ7P9SSs The speakers in the video speak about the women who were turned away from an abortion. The women who were denied abortion 86% were actually living with their child a year later. Problems with women carrying out a term of an unwanted pregnancy are below the poverty line and the state is going to have to pay for the aide of those women. There is a human cost of those women who were turned away.

This source is very useful in which I can use to make my argument stronger. It is reliable in the fact that facts of statistics were used to point out the problems. It was objective and straight to the point, and I am more than likely going to use this source.

Rockhardenthusiasm (2010, April 7) Why Abortion Should Remain Legal [Video file] Retrieved from http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OVwM0l21zXU The video explains why abortion should stay legal. The argument of adoption; not every child will find a loving family, or even be adopted. After 18, the child gets out of foster care, and there is nothing to support them. The author believes that if there is no abortion, all the unwanted children would be put in foster homes and with the rate of abortions now, there wouldnt be enough resources to aid them. The author proposes that the stress of growing up in foster care until adulthood can sometimes cause long lasting mental and emotional problems.

This source is reliable because the author used other sources to back himself up in his argument. Compared to the other sources this video has a point of view I have not considered yet. It was very helpful for me, in expanding my knowledge of negative effects of not having abortions. I can use this video to help back up my argument especially since I havent used it yet.
