Settling in...
Thank you all for your love and support! I miss you very much. I am praying for you as you pray for me. I am in my second month here in Shell, Ecuador and it has been a whirlwind. Between having my parents visit for the first time, getting settled into my apartment, figuring out what my role at Casa de Fe looks like, getting to know the new staff and finding a church to call home, lets just say, I have been busy settling into my life here in the jungle! Currently my role is doing development with the toddlers to help them get ready for school next year. I also help organize donations and distribute clothes to all the kids. I assist with the child sponsorship program and media/marketing programs. Other jobs include tutoring, substituting at the school and discipling the older girls. This makes for busy weeks but I am loving the variety of my tasks and working with kids of all ages. On Sundays, I take some of the younger girls to church. In the afternoons, we play soccer and ultimate Frisbee with the older kids as well as the youth from the Waorani church that I attend.

Christmas at Casa...
We went Christmas shopping in Ambato (about 2 hours away) for the younger kids. I really enjoyed getting to pick out special gifts that specific kids would enjoy. I cant wait to wrap the gifts and watch the kids open them on Christmas morning. It isnt a lot, but I love that we are can give them something on Christmas morning. Soon, we are taking the older kids to the mall in Ambato and they get to choose their own Christmas gift, which should be a blast! We just finished Thanksgiving at Casa de Fe and from the preparations the week before until the big feast, it was a sweet to spend time with the kids and hear their hearts about what they are thankful for. It was hard being away from family but being with the kids was a huge blessing. Thanksgiving festivities were followed by Shell Days, three days of parades, concerts, fireworks, food and games all over Shell to celebrate the towns existence. Its awesome to learn about and experience Ecuadorian holidays and traditions. With Christmas around the corner, all of the staff are trying to get into the holiday spirit, which can be a challenge when its 80 degrees and sunny/rainy everyday and you are used to -20 degrees and snowy during Christmas. But we are all participating in Advent and decorating our houses and listening to Christmas music at work while looking at palm trees outside our window.
Would you help us provide Christmas for a child at Casa de Fe? You can find more information at www.lacasadefe.org/ christmas-at-casa. You may send checks to CornerStone International with Christmas at Casa in the memo.
Casa Happenings...
We have two new additions to the Casa Family, Camila and Joseph, bringing us to 78 kids! We just finished our first online fundraiser. Thank you for helping us raise $2,300 for Casa de Fe.
