The Birth Order Theory


Ranks siblings by age

Order of birth normally relates to your personality

and the way you act Number 1 factor that influences a childs personality Age gap between kids can affect certain personality traits Sibling rivalry helps define birth order personality

First Born Children


Typical Characteristics: Goal-oriented, Competitive,

Jealous, High self-esteem, Aggressive Possibly feel dethroned (Alfred Adler) Most likely to start sibling rivalry Normally feels most pressure from parents Act as role models

Peter Wiggin
Showed his intelligence

Aggressive, commences the sibling rivalry


Displays jealousy Ender did not see Peter as the beautiful ten-year-old
