AFFECTED PRODUCTS
PROBLEM
CIS failures resulting in dark bands in the scans
SOLUTION
1. Replace defective component (130N01631 - the CIS) or
the next higher assembly; Scanner Assembly
(109N00690 for the 3100X or 109N00691 for the
3100S)
2. Upgrade Boot file to 3.1 and Firmware to 2.07M or
higher using the FW upgrade tool provided in the
Companion Pro software package.
EX: Start | all
Programs | Xerox Companion Suite | Phaser 3100 MFP |
Companion Firmware update.
3. Insure the scanner or CIS is calibrated as per section 6
general procedures and information in the service
manual
New FW 2.07M allows usage of new CIS supplier and
makes new scanners and CISs compatible with older
equipment.
