THIS IS OUR BEAUTIFUL IMAMBARGHA AT CLIFTON ROAD BIRMINGHAM SURROUNDED BY LUSH TREES

THIS IS WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO IT AT THE COST OF 4 Million

KSIMC

CAN YOU SPOT THE SIMILARITIES?

1. Total Glass frontage 2. Advert type roof signage 3. No Trees 4. No spiritual, cultural or traditional language

KSIMC

It is like a tacky SHOPPING PLAZA with a token plastic dome on it!

Now look at this!

This is a new mosque in Ashton, Manchester. It is a total new built with madressah, offices etc plus new land, car park etc.It won the annual AWARD first prize for best design. It is also considered for Aga Khan Award of Architecture. The total cost with land was 5million. Built in 2011!

UNDENIALABLE FACT
In 2012 Birmingham Central Mosque extended the mosque for 1M to increase capacity for 1000 people to pray. This included a new dome, minar and a tiled roof. But we will spend 4M to increase the capacity of our imambargha for about 1200 people - 3 Million more than Birmingham Central Mosque.

So where will the other 3M be spent?

The answer is that the other 3M will go in to decorative glass frontage, and executive mayat centre including a bridge to transfer bodies between ladies and gents halls, glass canopy on car park, separate jammat offices and major adjustment of Syeda Zainab Building. O yes, also for rooftop football!

But do we need all these at 3M?

So who is deciding on what we need and what we dont need?

Who decided that we should make our Imambargha like a Shopping Plaza?

Who decided that we need rooftop football?

What about the maintenance cost of a rooftop pitch?

O no, there is a big puddle that has not dried!

What about the cleaning of the glass frontage?

Ill do it, but you gotta pay me!

What about the broken glass and its replacement costs?

Do we need a bridge for mayats?

INFORMATION

Because the executive mayat centre will be at the gate the transport of the mayats in to the imambargah will be made via a bridge running at the first floor level. Is this appropriate? Why cant we incorporate the ghusal kafan section within the imambargha and avoid structures like the bridge?

Did you know that the car park will reduce to only parking for 17 cars?

Me, me, me!

These kind of facts were not mentioned at the referendum for us to get a truth about the STAY option

There must always be a maintenance plan for a proposed building. Where is it for the proposed building?
Why dont they tell us how much it will cost us to maintain the building proposed. Besides cleaning, the glass will cause heating bills to sore, wont it? And what about the large empty halls in the SZ and the cost of keeping them empty? What is the cost of building rooftop football and its maintenance? etc

There are also other major design faults:

1. Glass exterior means no privacy. So we will have to fog up

the glass! More expense. 2. There is minimal outdoor standing space for large crowds. 3. Children will be difficult to locate as outdoor site is split between SZ Building, Ladies Entrance and Gents Entrance There is not natural sunlight in most of the building as large halls are without windows ETC

At 4M we get a very inferior and faulty designed building. So did you know all these when you went to vote?
We voted but were not given all the CRUCIAL facts

And how will we afford 4M when Direct Debits to the MAP have decreased in the last two years?
It is a fact that the MAP does not have a money magnet and so where will the 4M come from?

I am asking questions based on:

Architectural Design Concept Finances & Affordability Maintenance costs and management Better alternatives

I have written to them many times to point out flaws in their plans but no legitimate answers to my officially stated questions have ever been given. Finally an adhoc meeting was proposed which I told them will become a slanging match as they have no official written and detailed answers to what I am asking.

There is no workable plan to gather 4M There is no maintenance plan to meet the daily costs of the building All we have is a drawing The drawing itself is full of flaws

Are we not wasting time?
