Dynatest Mk VI Heavy Vehicle Simulator

In response to market demands for a low cost, yet highly adaptable Accelerated Pavement Testing (APT) platform, Dynatest has developed the Mk VI model Heavy Vehicle Simulator. The Mk VI design maintains the same proven performance characteristics of the Mk IV/IV+ models, but unlike previous models, the latest generation Heavy Vehicle Simulator offering can be upgraded to meet a variety of testing needs. With a base weight of less than 40 tons, the Mk VI is the lightest model ever built. Designed with the need for long distance towing to and from test sites in mind, standard trailer suspensions along with a split & stack main beam (to minimize towing length) have been incorporated into the unit. To address the needs of onsite movement in confined spaces, the Mk VI features a rotating suspension system to enable lateral movement and minimize the turning radius.

General performance specifications for the base Mk VI: Automated pavement loading of at least 13,000 passes unidirectional or 26,000 passes bidirectional over a 24-hour period with the standard beam using either single/dual truck or aircraft tires. Achievable load levels between 30 and 100 kN (7-22.5 kips) with standard model and up to 200 kN (45 kips) with aircraft wheel and ballast options. Testing speed up to 12.8 km/hr (8 mph) with standard model and up to 20 km/hr (12 mph) with beam extension option. Automatic/programmable indexing (wheel wander) between passes in increments of 25 to 75mm over 0.9m.
