Classroom Rules – All Schools rules apply during class. No Food or Drink unless water in class

Course Overview – This course is designed to explore the nature of business

in an international economy and to study related careers in fields such as
entrepreneurship, financial services, information technology, marketing,
office systems technology, public relations and promotion, and travel and
tourism. Emphasis is on using the computer while studying applications in
these careers along with problem solving and thinking skills. Communication
and mathematics skills are reinforced as students explore business
applications and careers. Work-based learning strategies appropriate for this
course are service learning, field trips, and job shadowing. Simulations,
projects, teamwork, and FBLA leadership activities, meetings, conferences,
and competitions provide opportunities for application of instructional
competencies. This course contributes to the development of a career development plan.

Attendance – School rules apply. It is important that you are in class every day. If you are absent, it is
your responsibility to obtain missing work. It is also your responsibility to make up all your work you
missed. Missed work will be made up according to the Student Handbook.

Internet Use – The Internet is for educational use only. No games, videos, music, downloads, or email.

Quizzes 30% B = 85-92%
Tests 40% C = 77-84%
D = 70-76%
F = 69% or below
