SOUTH MISSISSIPPI GUN ASSOCIATION, INC. RANGE LAND and FIRING LINE RULES 1.

SMGA members will close the gate behind them upon entering and leaving the range property unless the range officer directs that it be left open. 2. Alcoholic beverages are prohibited on the SMGA property and Ranges. 3. Only SMGA voting members in good standing are allowed to shoot unsupervised on SMGA Ranges. Club members are responsible for the good behavior of their guest and for insuring that they follow the range rules. Do not leave guest unsupervised. 4. illful destruction of any range property or e!uipment will be grounds for discipline. "ach person using the range is e#pected to $eep them clean. 5. SAFETY is the first concern in ALL range activities. Actions% slides% cylinders% etc.% will be open on all firearms at all times when on the range property e#cept& A. hen the firearm is being encased& that is placed into a holster% bag% etc. B. hen the firearm is being prepared for firing on the firing line. When on the firing line all firearms will be pointed downrange at all times. 6. 'rotective e!uipment for the eyes and ears is re!uired by SMGA for all shooters and spectators. . 'rior to firing% the shooter will insure that the impact area is clear. (o firing will be done while anyone is forward of the firing line. Anyone desiring to go down range from the firing must ma$e a re!uest in a loud and clear voice. )e must be sure everyone on the firing line is aware of his re!uest and ceases fire. !. All firearms must be cleared and benched with actions open while anyone is forward of the firing line. ". Shooters will insure that all bullets impact into the bac$stop*berms. Only paper targets% no bottles or cans will be used on the SMGA Ranges. Indiscriminate shooting at objects lying on flat, horizontal surfaces is not permitted . 1#. +se of the range is governed by the following& A. ,he shotgun range is for clay bird shooting and patterning purposes. Shotguns are prohibited on all other ranges. B. ,he -. meter range is for handguns% blac$ powder arms% and rifles of any caliber. C. ,he /.. meter range is for rifles 0any caliber1 only. D. ,he 2.. yard range is for rifles only e#cept when silhouette matches are held. ,he mini3berms are strictly for 22 cal. rimfire silhouette shooting only. Do not shoot spinners with anything other than 22 cl. rimfire. E. ,he 'in range is for handguns 0any caliber1 only. All bottlenec$ cartridges are prohibited on this range. F. All targets must be within /. feet of the berms on the -.m% /..m% and 2..yd ranges. Move up from the firing line to shoot at less than normal distances on these ranges or use the 'in Range for shooting at distances less than the above berm ranges. G. 'rior to firing a 4/5 6arrett or -. 6MG at the range% contact with the Range Officer must be made. H. Rapid unaimed fire of semi3automatic and fully automatic arms must be from a point no more than /- yards from the berm. Automatic arms will not be fired on the SMGA Range without direct supervision of the SMGA Range Officer or a 6oard of Directors member. 11. During open shooting when more than one person is shooting a 7temporary% Range Officer8 will be designated by those present. )e will control all firing according to SMGA range rules and will be obeyed by all present. 12. During organi9ed SMGA matches and range functions% the SMGA Range Officer is authori9ed to ma$e temporary changes to these rules. All members and guest present will abide by the temporary rules. ,he Range Officer also determines the rules for the conduct of all matches held. 13. (o shooting is permitted at any time visibility of the target is impaired in any way. 0:.e. because of dar$ness% fog% etc.1 14. All County% State% and ;ederal laws will be observed while on SMGA Range 'roperty. 15. :nfractions of any SMGA Range <and and ;iring <ine Rules will re!uire immediate reprimand by any SMGA member present who will report the incident as soon as possible to the Range Officer. +pon complaint by the SMGA Range Officer% the 6oard of Directors will appoint a committee to& A. :nvestigate the complaint immediately. B. Determine if any penalties should be administered by the 6oard of Directors. 'enalties may consist of suspension of range privileges% a fine% or e#pulsion from SMGA with forfeiture of all fees and dues. 16. Appeal of penalties imposed by the SMGA 6oard of Directors shall be dealt with in accordance with SMGA 6y3laws% Article =:::. 1 . ,o use the SMGA Range% each member must pay their annual dues% be a current (RA member% and sign a SMGA Range Rules Ac$nowledgment form.
