Analysis of, “Her morning Elegance”

I have analysed the technical construction in this music video. It was interesting
and professional how stop motion animation was used to demonstrate the lyrics
as well as portray the lady on the mattress. Through the stop motion animation,
the idea of how the mattress has its own life was emphasised by the number of
objects that appeared which had a purpose to appear; representing the lyrics.
Her movements were shown through stop motion animation which gave a clear
portrayal of her, “elegant” character, as the main focus is her movements and
what she experiences.

Lighting is bright with white being the main colour which creates a fresh, breezy
and elegant atmosphere in the video. This goes perfectly with the idea of, “her
morning elegance”.

Oren Lavies who sings the song, “her morning elegance”, appears in the music
video which adds a sense of realism which is opposite to the creative idea of stop
motion animation. This is why it’s interesting; different media texts are used to
create this music video.

Objects such as socks are used which turns into fishes and bed sheets which act
as a jelly fish. Therefore the mis-en-scene surrounding the lady is objects and
equipment on the mattress and colour co-ordinated to her white outfit.

A violin is played during the beginning of the music video which appears on the
mattress highlighting the fact that the sound within the lyrics and stop motion
animation works together to create this video. This is what we hope to achieve
when creating the music video for, “exterminate, and regenerate”.

This video is especially useful in terms of; camera shots for the music video Mala
and I are going to create. Stop motion animation is used from a high angle; of
the lady on the mattress from a bird’s eye view. This links with the idea of one of
the characters in our music video looking up from the bed, whilst his in a dream.
