Selection Is An Art and Science Selection is the collection of Science & Art, in which a candidate being analysis by using

the Science & then make decision with the help of Art/Common Sense. The selection decision might be wrong if only relying on Science tools & Techniques so its must use common sense to make decision which is the part of an Art. Selecting a candidate is science because by applying the tools & Techniques of Science like making an assessment & taking test on basis of science because Body Language & Gestures Assessment Behavioral and Situational Interviewing Questions Stress Based Interviewing Techniques (for high pressure jobs) Presentations Group Discussions Panel Interviews Medical examination Furthermore the art in selection involves a personal, observational and face to face appraisal of candidates for employment. They will ask question that is not formal at all because the manager want to see the attitude of the employee to answer the question in a good way and manner. Applicants who have crossed the above stages are sent for a physical examination either to the companys physician or to a medical officer approved for the purpose. This is called Medical examination. The final approval is the shortlisted candidates by the department are finally approved by the executives of the HR department which is the executive itself
