Design 6881 Ladies' Pink Top

Size: to fit bust 32/34" [82/86cm], 36/38" [92/97cm] and 40/42" [102/107cm]. Directions for sizes are given in ascending order, separated by hyphens. If there is only one figure, it applies to all sizes. Materials: Schachenmayr / SMC Cotton Bamboo, 250-300-300g #00035 rose. US 3-6 [3-4mm] needles and one US 2-5 [2.753.75mm] circular needle 24" [60cm] long, or size to obtain gauge. Stockinette stitch: K RS rows; P WS rows; in rnds K all sts. Gauge: with 3-4mm needles and st-st 22 sts and 30 rows, each to 4" [10cm]. METHOD Back: with 3-4mm needles cast on 97- 108-119 sts and work in st-st; start with 1 RS row. When work measures 12-13-13" [32-33-34cm] bind off for armhole shaping at each end 5 sts once, then on every 2nd 6881 Ladies' Pink Top row 2 sts twice and 1 st 3 times = 73-84-95 sts. When work measures 21-21-22" [53-55-57cm] bind off for shoulders at each end 5-7-8 sts once, then 6-7-9 sts on every 2nd row 2 times. Then leave rem 39-42-43 sts on a holder for neck. Total height of work = 21-22-23" [54.5-56.558.5cm]. Front: proceed as for back except for neck. When work measures 15-16-17" [39-41-43cm] bind off 19-22-23 sts at center for neck and finish each side sep. At neck edge bind off 1 st on every 4nd row 10 times. At the same time, when work measures 21-21-22" [53-55-57cm], work shoulders on either side as for back. Finishing: block pieces to measurements, cover with a damp cloth and allow to dry. Close shoulder seams. Across each armhole edge pick up about 92-96-100 sts, P 1 WS row and work 3 rows st-st, then bind off all sts. Close side and sleeve seams. With the circular needle pick up 93-99-105 sts across front neck edge, then K across the 39-42-43 sts off holder = 132-141- 148 sts. Work 4 rnds st-st, then bind off all sts. Allow cast-on and bound-off edges to roll up.
