Computer Terms and Vocab: Places to Save Information


Network: connection of computers that are all connected to the internet such as CLSD network. RAM: Read Access Memory- memory in your computer In the clouds: Storing projects through Internet USB: a flash drive, small device to save projects and you can plug it into a computer.

Mouse: Its hardware that moves the cursor Keyboard: Its hardware that types. Monitor: Its hardware that displays like a T.V. Headphones: Its hardware that helps you hear. HARDWARE: Pieces of the computer that you can touch.

Microsoft Word: Its software used to type a document. Google Chrome: Its software where you can create presentations, use Google, type papers, etc. iPhoto: Its software that stores photos and you can edit them. Paint: Its software where you can paint\draw, paste photos to edit. SOFTWARE: The programs that make your computer run.

- The first computer was so big- it took up an entire gym! - Original computers had cords that needed to be switched to get different programs to run. - 0 and 1 are binary numbers and are switches in our modern computers to make the programs run. - The world wide Web, www, was created in 1989! Its only 24 years old!

Its an internet based program through google chrome similar to Microsoft Word. You can type a paper or report, We created a table, and make your own drawing, add images, change colors, fonts, and italicize, bold, and underline.

Google Presentations Its an internet based program through Google Chrome similar to Microsoft Powerpoint. You can create a slideshow presentation!

1. Be SAFE!! 2. Make sure your Websites are Reliable and accurate. 3. Give credit to the original source or author. Remember, do not plagiarize!!

Tips to prevent Plagiarism


Fill out source sheets with information such as the web addresses\URL authors first and last name quotation marks around the author's exact words place of publication title date it was published\ copyright date date you found the info title of the article include and around the author's exact words.

Tips to prevent plagiarism for photos on Google Drive


*give the source if using google images by copying and pasting the URL\web addresses

*OR use stock and you dont have to copy URL because they are allowed for Google Drive usage.

MLA on Noodle Tools


-MLA: Modern Language Association
-Chardon adopted to the MLA rules to properly cite all sources. -creates a Bibliography at the end of the paper or project. -You create the bibliography using your source information that you wrote down or you pasted by using Noodle Tools.
